You have a big idea for the Boys and Girls Clubs. You know people with the same passion, but you need support to make an impact. Generally, crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or campaign by soliciting relatively small donations of money from a large number of people, typically facilitated through a web-based giving site.
Crowdfunding at the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama will enable alumni, friends, club families, volunteers,board members and staff to make a collective impact on our community. Crowdfunding gives donors another way to fund their passion. Whether through community, school ,college, church and workplace outreach, fellowship or student projects, crowdfunding is a way to get your big idea in front of the world.
Campaign Requirements
Application Process
To apply for a crowdfunding project, submit your application here. Your application will be reviewed by your Club area's assigned administrator. He or she will follow up with you within five business days of your initial application. Please provide as much information as possible to demonstrate why your campaign will be a success.
Campaign Selection
Each Campaign is evaluated by the administrator of their assigned area on Campaign requirements, objectives, and overall viability. A Campaign may be recommended for launch, delayed for possible revisions, or turned down if it does not meet the criteria needed to be successful.

Does my crowdfunding gift count toward the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama’s Annual Fund?
Yes. Your support through the Crowdfunding at the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama platform is an essential component of our Annual Fund.
What if the project I supported doesn’t reach its funding goal?
All projects receive any funds donated to the project, whether or not they reach their funding goal.

Who is eligible to participate in Crowdfunding at the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama?
Anyone who is passionate about the Boys and Girls Clubs and wants to see great ideas change the world.
Are there certain requirements to start a project?
A great idea, passion for the mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama, a strong network of advocates, and a project communication plan.
Will there be additional work required from me upon posting my project?
Yes. We recommend a team of people who will not be on vacation during the project, as well as people who are willing to spend at least an hour a day promoting and updating the project page, assisting with videos and other materials, and keeping in touch with donors.
How do I participate as a donor?
Once you have selected the project(s) you would like to support, fill in a dollar amount you would like to give to each project. You can share your support of Crowdfunding at the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama projects on social media as well as encouraging others to support crowdfunding projects at the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama.
Where does my contribution go?
All gifts to the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama projects are directed to the fund indicated on the online giving form. One hundred percent of your gift will benefit the program you designate for support.

Campaign Requirements
- Passion for the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama and our community
- Clearly defined Campaign goals that offer solutions to a genuine need
- Modest entry-level goals that are attainable
- Concise Campaign time frame, usually 30-60 days
- Strong network of supporters and advocates with:
- Two to five Campaign advocates with at least 100 contacts each (recommended)
- Dedicated Campaign leader who:
- Is Available 1-2 hours a day to work on the Campaign
- Can provide a minimum of eight updates throughout the Campaign
- Can create engaging video content
- Can thank supporters in a timely manner
